Copycat Layout project
For this project, we chose a picture that we wanted to re-create and copy the layout as well as the design. I really enjoy listening to Denver and The Mile High Orchestra and decided to use their CD cover for Timeless Christmas as my picture/poster.
For this project, we had to choose a picture that included graphics and text. The hardest part about this project was the fonts. I spent at least five minutes just choosing a font for one word.If I couldn't find any on Pixlr, I would go online and download a free font. It automatically saves into Pixlr on your computer. I copied the snowflakes from the original image, but it was hard to place them exactly since there are a significant amount of them and some are super small. I made each word into a regular layer instead of a text layer, so it was tricky to erase around the words. I created this without full knowledge of the tools available to me. Looking back, I could have used the "Magic Wand" selection tool to select the letters so that Pixlr would not let me erase them, and then erase around them. When I finished this project, I was really happy with the way it turned out, and it is still one that I am proud of.
